About Tap-in
A Heartfelt Journey Since 1983
In 1983, six visionary women from Rhode Island's East Bay embarked on a mission. They envisioned a better quality of life for their neighbors and founded Tap-In. What started as a hub for referrals and information blossomed into a haven offering food, clothes, furniture, transport, and much more.
Our Mission
At the heart of our efforts lies a simple yet profound goal - to enhance the lives of East Bay residents by offering resources that combat food insecurity and economic challenges.
Incredible as it might sound, Tap-In is entirely volunteer-driven. A passionate team of 130 locals powers us, and we are wholly funded by generous donations and grants from our community members, businesses, schools, worship places, and other civic entities.
Our Impact
Our reach extends to residents of Barrington, Bristol, East Providence, and Warren. As a proud member agency of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, we can efficiently source food and supplies.
Local companies, individual households, schools, and other civic organizations have been our backbone, supporting our endeavors, whether it's through food drives or thoughtful initiatives like children opting for Tap-In donations over party gifts.
